New neighbours moved in

A few weeks ago we got new neighbours.
It started like this:

"I found a house for us" -
the sparrow chirped!
He was all excited
and chirped louder and louder.
"Come and see! Come and try!"
"It looks perfect to me!
Spacious inside and totally dry".
"I can even turn around in here"!
Chirp, chirp!
Not long after the first female arrived on the scene
and went in for an inspection.
"Let me have a closer look"!
"OK, I agree. I'll wait here -
you go and get the bedding"!

Since then there has been going on quite a
building activity in this pipe.
They have changed their way of enter to:
in the other end, out here. That way
they don't have to turn around inside.
Today, he emerged after a session on the eggs
looking rather unkempt and ready for
a break.
The next shift worker arrived promptly.

A story seen through the warped glass of an old window.

Neue Nachbarn

Komm schnell"!
