Get Your Ski Out!

Once in a while I start thinking that we might be moving backwards in time.

Is it March or are we going back to December?

'

One single day had where we could enjoy a cup of coffee outside in lee of the wind.

That was it.

The next day we got presented with another foot (30cm) of snow.

It might look pretty but it took a lot of shovelling and more shovelling to get out of this mess. Especial where the plow had dumped its load at the entrance to our property.

Herring Cove Beach looked like that. Towering snow banks where you had to climb over in order to get to the beach.

With so much snow I decided to dig out my ski, after 20 some years. One need a bit of fun after all!

A friendly lady, who also were taking er dogs out for a stroll, took a photo to proof I still could do it!

Another day we decided to take a trip to the northern most tip of the island and have a look across to the lighthouse.

Fierce icy wind had covered the rocks with frozen sea spray.

What a beautiful view - but so cold. We did not stay for very long.

To cheer us up the weather stations keep promising that warmer weather is on its way. I hope so. It is getting to the point where I am tired of snow and the icy wind.

  1. All that cold and snow can get a bit depressing after a will, hopefully will clear up soon.
