Repeat Please!

What happened? 

The snow became rain and the rain turned everything into ice - again.

Icy wind prevented us from walking the beach.

 The wood were better sheltered, but all paths had turned into ice rinks. 

Each day we managed to get in and out without harm, whew. 

With the sun climbing higher in the sky every day

 the ice disappeared slowly. 

A litte more every day. 

That was how it looked yesterday.

And then:

Repeat - please!

Overnight we got another round with high winds and snow.

 It will be topped by freezing rain later this evening. 

And more ice. 

The worst is always the barrier at the entrance to our driveway.  

Look at this! 

Wind and snowplough heaped up a nasty berm today. 

40 - 50 cm high and 3m wide.

Peter and a I started to shovel and it would have taken us an eternity but we were lucky.

  A friendly driver came by to help us out. 

With the blade it took him a few minutes to remove the worst of it to the sides. 

What a relief! How long will it last?  

Not long, it is snowing already!

Translation

Seit dem letzten Schneefall hatten wir "viel Wetter". Regen verwandelte alles wieder in Eis und das Spazierengehen wurde eine ziemlich gefährliche Angelegenheit. Heute nun haben wir wieder eine Schneesturm gehabt. Er hat uns 20 cm Neuschnee gebracht. Starker Wind hat den allerdings an manchen Stellen ziemlich hoch zusammengepackt. Besonders ärgerlich ist das in unserer Auffahrt. Dort wirft der Schneepflug immer einen harten Wall auf. Es hätte uns eine Ewigkeit gekostet den mit der Schaufel zu beseitigen. Wir hatten Glück - ein vorbeifahrender Nachbar half uns mit seinem Schneepflug das Meiste schnell zur Seite zu schieben. Welch eine Erleichterung! Gerade noch rechtzeitig denn es fing wieder an zu regnen und die Oberfläche vereiste schnell. 

Wie lange wird es wohl anhalten? 

Nicht lange, es schneit schon wieder. Seufz!
