Rolling Again, nearly at Home

Finally we are rolling again, after 6 days of waiting for the repair of our transmission.

Our last afternoon in Buck Creek Statepark, Ohio

Spring landscape near Columbus, Ohio

On I -90 to Buffalo, NY, Lake Erie in the background

Lots of wineries in the area between Erie, PA and Buffalo, NY

Entering the State of New York

The first section was from Columbus, OH to Batavia, NY.
Lots of driving and a short night only.
Just minutes before sunrise in Batavia, NY
an approaching thunderstorm produced the earliest rainbow I have ever seen

Today we covered the stretch from Batavia, Ohio via I-90
Old farmstead in upstate New York

City along the interstate in upstate New York

Along the I-90 we drove by towns called Rome, Geneva, Hamburg, Poland, Amsterdam, Rotterdam until I thought we had taken a wrong turn and ended up in Europe. ;))

Hilly country between Adirondack and Catskill Mountains

Entering the State of Massachusetts

und I-295 to Massachusetts and finally
Entering the State of New Hampshire

ending on I-95 in New Hampshire.
At 4:30 PM we finally rolled in our last overnight spot.
Sorry, I was too tired to go outside. Our parking spot behind the liquor outlet.
Taken through mosquito netting of the camper window.

The parking lot of a Liquor Outlet right at the interstate. Quiet and free, if one does not buy a few bottles....
Tomorrow another 5 hours of driving and we finally will be back home.
Today only photos, I lots track of all the names.

Our two day's trip from Ohio to New Hampshire
shortest route, least mountainous

Windy again

Today the weather network talked about a “winter storm” which would be crossing the Southwest.

That might be true for some higher elevation but down here it looked liked this while we took our morning walk.

Calm waters of the canal (and two American Coots)

The usual calm waters of the irrigation canal was getting whipped into small "white caps”.

choppy water and white caps on the canal

A rainbow arched over the desert

A rainbow over the desert

indicating that a shower was on its way.

A northwesterly wind was gusty, and several times Peter had to retrieve his hat out of the shrubs.

retrieving the cap

got it!

He also was asked to take a photo of me,

and look how it turned out! :D

Too much good food? or the wind?

Dixie’s fur got ruffled by the wind

Dixie found a stick

 and she got the “zoomies”,

Racing around among the shrubs

enjoying her freedom.

our camper tucked behind the shrubs

In our neighbourhood we saw dust clouds flying,
dust flying in the neighbourhood

and our small “Troll” looked scared as the wind tossed him around.
scared "Troll"

After our walk Dixie hid herself
among the rabbit bushes

but as it begun to rain
Dixie snoozing on her bed

she decided to rather come inside.
Much more comfortable than being outside in the wind.
The sun is shining again, the trailer is rocking,
but the wind will subside later in the afternoon

Nachmittag wieder abnehmen.
