After two more days and 18 hours and 960 mi (1544 km) driving
we finally made it to our last stop before home.
65' (20 m) Camper combination |
After Mansfield OH we stayed in another Walmart near Oneida, NY for the night into Wednesday
vineyards around Erie, OH |
and started very early on Wednesday morning.
Lake Erie on the horizon |
The weather stayed nice and dry, the wind light.
early morning view of road through Canastota, NY |
crossing high over the Hudson River 214 feet (65 m,) I did not look down |
First we decided to just go until we reached Maine.
Bridge over the Pisccataqua River, entering Maine |
part of Portland, ME |
Gardiner Service Plaza was the place we wanted to stay for the night.
no warm desert climate anymore, snow along the I-95 in Maine |
But when we got there it was only another 2 hours up to Bangor and Peter felt that
he could do these last miles as well.
That way it would only be 3 more hours to home on Thursday.
At 5pm after a long day on the road we reached Dysart's Truck Stop
just south of Bangor ME.
Approaching a very busy Dysart's Truck Stop in Bangor, ME |
It was packed but we found a spot to squeeze in for the night.
Last Truck Stop night before home |
Tomorrow we will be home!
Now I just want to sleep.
Zzzzz

The long days on the road, get you that one step closer to home, but tire the heck out of you for the next week.

It's about time.
