Last bonfire and lots of treats

Being in the desert making a lots of friends.
Every year we wonder who our neighbours will be this year.
We were lucky when three very nice couples
from Montana moved in.

Dixie watching our cook Anne very closely
Anne and Rick have a big smoker outside.
Recently we were invited for shredded pork shoulder.
Dixie was mesmerized by the smell of the
cooking meat.

Drago and Blossom waiting for crumbs

Also the other people had dogs and they were
lining up as well long before

Hungry guests arriving

we showed up.
So much good food!
Our potluck table - yummy!

Afterwards we moved towards the other place where
Kathy and Ed, Pam and Tim
started a nice bonfire.
All dogs ( Dixie, Drago and Isha) like Kathy
Kathy was the dogs favourite person.
She always had freeze dried beef liver treats handy.

Wherever Kathy (here with Pam) showed up anticipation grew.
"Did she have any treats in her pockets?"
Kathy always had treats in her pockets
And more often than not she had.
Kathy even left a small bag of treats
for Dixie before they left! So nice of her.

Yesterday was their last day around here.
This morning they left for new adventures in
the "Valley of Names", Yuma AZ

Warming up around the fire pit

There the want to explore the area with their four wheel drives.

Ed had a few pouches of magic powder which
he added to the fire.
Look at those beautiful colours!

So we said: "Bye, bye" to our new friends. Maybe we will meet
again in the fall.

Paare vom Staat Montana.

nach "Valley of the Names" umzuziehen.

Two Ladies Crawling

It was even colder today than two days ago.
There was now way around it, we needed to walk
the southwestern trail again.
This way we were joined by Dixie's boyfriend Beau
and his owner, Joyce.
"Let's go for a walk, Beau!"
Early morning sea fog made pretty pattern along the rocky beach
In patches it even covered the ground with white hoar frost.
Both dogs are petty good camouflaged.
View over towards the eastern most town Lubec, Maine.
A bench invites to rest, but as the white frost cover on the rocks tells,
this place was still too cold and windy.
So beautiful.
At Cranberry Point were the trail end, we finally came out of the wind and
decided to enjoy the winter sun for a few minutes, while the dogs
played "catch-me-if-you-can".
View towards the southeast. Way back at the horizon island Grand Manan.
Dixie and Beau waiting for a treat.
Remember - the "road block" - it was still there!
and: YES
we both crawled under the tree.
(That made the "headline")
Hahaha!

The last view before we started back towards our car.

 Upper Duck Pond.

Another enjoyable winter afternoon.

Genau.
JA- wir sind beide drunter drunter her gekrochen!
Hahaha.
